While the LMP3 title race is still open to several teams, the GT3 titles could be decided with Italian team AF Corse holding a commanding lead.

LMP3 Leader: COOL Racing

While championships leaders David Droux and Adrien Chila could only manage to secure two points for 9thplace in Belgium last month, the Franco-Swiss duo still head the points standings for COOL Racing as their nearest rivals also failed to score.

The no97 COOL Racing Ligier heads to Italy with 49.5 points, with an 8.5 points advantage over their nearest rivals Fabien Michal and Hadrien David in the no85 R-ace GP.

Michal had started the race at Spa-Francorchamps on pole position but got caught up in the first corner accident and retired from the race. The all-French team head to Mugello on 41 points, 1 point ahead of Barcelona winners High Class Racing, with Jens Moller and Tommy Foster also failing to score in Belgium.

The no87 COOL Racing moved up to third after finishing second in Belgium, Adrien Closmenil and James Sweetnam on 34 points, just 14.5 behind the leaders, while Spa-Francorchamps winners Bretton Racing move up to fifth thanks to the 25 points for winning the Belgian round.

GT3 LEADER: AF Corse

The no51 AF Corse Ferrari secured another podium finish in Belgium, Alessandro Balzan and Matt Kurzejewski were classified as second after a post-race penalty dropped the American drivers behind their AF Corse teammates Custodio Toledo and Riccardo Agostini after finishing 1ston the road.

Balzan and Kurzejewski head to Mugello with 82.5 points, 27 ahead of the no88 AF Corse Ferrari of Toledo and Agostini and 29 points ahead of the third placed no74 Kessel Racing Ferrari of Fran Rueda Mateos and Andrew Gilbert.

If Balzan and Kurzejewski finish ahead of the three nearest rivals in Mugello or be 26 points ahead of the rest of the field at the end of race, they will lift the 2024 Michelin Le Mans Cup GT3 championship trophy with one race in hand.

Round 5 of the 2024 Michelin Le Mans Cup will be in Mugello, Italy on Saturday 28 September.
