Former Michelin Le Mans Cup front runner Eric De Doncker returns to the Michelin Le Mans Cup with ANS Motorsport. The Belgian driver with partner with Nicolas Schatz in the no6 Ligier JSP320-Nissan for this weekend, with De Doncker looking at a future return to the series in 2025.
“Last year I wanted to do the ELMS, but, unfortunately I didn't get an entry with my team. So, because I had done the MLMC for five years, I decided to change, so I'm doing the European GT2 series. Sometimes teams are missing a bronze driver and they call me to see if I can do the race. Nicolas (Schatz), who is a good friend and nice guy, with a good team, he called me and I said, yes.
“For the moment this is a one-off race, but I'll be back next year with my team with a new LMP3.I have to speak with Nicolas, because he asked me to do Mugello and Portimao.I don't think I will do Mugello, because it is just after GT2 at Monza. Maybe I'll do Portimao, but I need to talk with Nicolas.”
