So far, the team have a best finish of 5th place in the opening round in Barcelona, with a 7th and a 6th place finishes in the two Road To Le Mans encounters last month. However, as the third full season car to take the chequered flag in each race, Broggi and Nicolae added 14 championship points to their tally ahead of the next round at Spa-Francorchamps next month.

There will be a change of drivers for the last three races of the 2025 season, withSabino de Castro taking over from Sergiu Nicolae in Spa.

Sabino de Castro, Sergiu Nicolae and Fabrizio Broggi have already enjoyed success with Ebimotors, winning the 2021 24H Series – 991 class and the 2024 24H Series Middle East Trophy GT3 together.

We caught up with Fabrizio Broggi at the halfway point of the season, to talk about the first three rounds and his ambitions for success in the Michelin Le Mans Cup and beyond.

Q1. How would you summarise the season so far after Barcelona, Le Castellet and Le Mans?

Fabrizio Broggi: “The season has not been that kind with us so far. Barcelona has been a learning process with a couple of penalties and at Le Castellet I was taken out of the race by an LMP2 car. Le Mans on the other hand was problem free but was too short to learn the track for an aged driver like me.”

Q2. What was it like for you as a driver competing on the full 13.6km track at Le Mans?

FB: “It is the fulfilment of a dream for any driver. For me it has been very emotional having grown up with the image of Paul Newman racing there in 1979.”

Q3. What was the main reason that attracted you to compete in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with Ebimotors this year?

FB: “Ebimotors has a long history with the Michelin Le Mans Cup having participated in the main Le Mans 24 in 2018, having won the entry in Le Mans Cup the previous season. Having already happily competed with Ebimotors with Willi Motorsport first and then with Manamauri Energy by Ebimotors as well, we wanted to enter the Le Mans environment with the dream of stepping up the ladder in the future.”

Q4. You have competed in the first half of the season with Sergiu Nicolae. Now you will be joined by Sabino de Castro for Spa, Silverstone and Portimao. What was the reason for the driver change and please tell us a bit about your two teammates.

FB: “As I said previously, we had successful years in Endurance races/series with Manamauri Energy by Ebimotors with our historical line up of Sergiu Nicolae, Sabino de Castro and myself. Therefore, we wanted to keep ourselves trained this year in a two-driver line up championship waiting to enter a championship like the European Le Mans Series where we will be back happily together.

“This is the basic reason for the switch with the two more expert drivers in the championship, with myself as the bronze. Technically Sergiu and Sabino are totally different drivers. Sergiu Nicolae is pure talent and Sabino the expert technical reference.”

Q5. The next race is at Spa-Francorchamps. Please tell us about your thoughts on the circuit, have you competed there before in a Porsche, and do you have a favourite corner or corners?

FB: “The historical circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is another ‘must do’ circuit. I had the pleasure of already to competing there with a Porsche 911 (992) GT3 Cup and I am thrilled to be going back in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with our 'Carlotta' No. 95 Porsche 911 (992) GT3 R.

“I am excited at the prospect of racing through 'Eau Rouge' / 'Blancimont', which will be a defining moment for me as a Bronze Driver.

Q6. What is the goal for you and the team at the next race in Spa? What would you consider a good result?

FB: “I believe we were ready for a podium finish with Sergiu and the experienced Ebimotors team. With the new variable of Sabino returning to drive the Porsche 911 (992) GT3 R after a long stop, we have to see how quickly he will come back to performance, but the podium would still be the most satisfactory result.”
