With the second 60-minute Free Practice session taking place on a wet track, the fastest time of opening day at Spa-Francorchamps was set in FP1, with the no7 Nielsen Racing Ligier of Josh Skelton leading the way with a 2m13.480 lap time.
Skelton’s best lap was 0.464s faster than the second placed car which was the no97 COOL Racing Ligier after David Droux posted a 2m13.944, 0.081s ahead of the no28 MV2S Racing Ligier and 0.222s ahead of the fourth fastest car, the no23 United Autosports Ligier.
In FP2 the no97 COOL Racing Ligier of 2022 Spa-Francorchamps Round winner David Droux was the quickest car on track, with the Swiss driver lapping in 2m29.377, which was over 15 seconds slower than the best time of 2m13.944 set in FP1 by the no7 Nielsen Racing Ligier of Josh Skelton.
The fastest GT3 entry on Day 1 was the no10 Racing Spirt of Leman Aston Martin Vantage of championship leader Valentin Hasse Clot, the French driver setting a best lap of 2m18.486, 0.125s ahead of the no63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini of Vincent Abril.
The no18 Team Parker Racing Porsche was third fastest with a 2m18.927, 0.4 seconds ahead of the fourth fastest entry, the no83 AF Corse Ferrari 296.
The no19 Leipert Motorsport Lamborghini was the fastest car in GT3 in FP2, with Patrick Kujala setting a 2m34.970 lap.Like the LMP3 time, this was well short of the best time in FP1, over 16 seconds slower than the no10 Racing Spirt of Leman Aston Martin Vantage of Valentin Hasse Clot.
Qualifying will be held at 11h55 tomorrow, with the GT3 session followed by LMP3 qualifying.
