DKR Engineering and Pzoberer Zürichsee by TFT Secure Pole for RTLM Race 1

The first 20-minute qualifying session for this evening first 55-minute Road To Le Mans race of the weekend saw the no3 DKR Engineering Duqueine driven by Laurents Hörr set the fastest time to secure pole position.

The German driver, who has already won at Le Mans twice, posted a 3m44.352 lap, which was 0.727s faster than his nearest rival, the no21 Muehlner Motorsport Duqueine of Ugo de Wilde. The no66 Rinaldi Racing Duqueine of Nicolas Varrone and the no69 Cool Racing Ligier of Matt Bell finished 3rd and 4th fastest respectively and will start the race from row 2.

The qualifying session was interrupted by two slow zone periods, both at slow zone 8, where two cars had to be rescued from the gravel at Porsche Curves in two separate incidents.

The GT3 pole was secured by Julien Andlauer in the no2 Pzoberer Zürichsee by TFT Porsche, the French driver posting a 3m54.392 lap at the chequered flag to go ahead of the no8 Iron Lynx Ferrari of Logan Sargeant, the American’s time of 3m55.240 looking good for pole until the final seconds of the session.

The no51 AF Corse Ferrari of Edward Cheever was third fastest, with the no72 Team WRT Audi of Charles Weerts joining him on the second row of the GT3 grid.

The first Road to Le Mans race is due to start at 19h30 (CEST) this evening.
