FP2: Rinaldi Racing Tops Second Practice

The LMP3 Pro/Am entered no66 Rinaldi Racing Ligier-Toyota was the fastest car in the second 60-minute Free Practice session at Spa-Francorchamps.  The no50 23Events Racing was second fastest and the quickest 18 LMP3 entries and GT3 was headed by the no65 Team Motopark Mercedes-AMG.

The session was interrupted twice by red flags and once by a Full Course Yellow to recover cars that had gone off track. The interruptions were kept short by the quick work of the trackside marshals.

At the chequered flag Griffin Peebles had set the fastest lap of 2m12.192, which was 0.236s slower than the best overall time set in FP1 but 0.603s better than the best LMP3 Pro/Am time in the earlier session. However, Peebles was 0.131s ahead of the second fastest car, the no50 Ligier of Matteo Quintarelli, the Italian posting a 2m12.323 to head the LMP3 entry.

The second fastest car in LMP3 was the no97 CLX Motorsport Ligier of David Droux in third overall with a 2m12.716, 0.086s ahead of the no30 CD Sport Duqueine.

The second fastest LMP3 Pro/Am car was the no99 More Motorsport Ligier of Max Van Der Snel Jr in 8thoverall, the Dutch driver 0.116s ahead of Belgian team Motorsport98 with Gillian Henrion posting a 2m13.621.

Lukas Dunner set the best GT3 time of 2m18.108 in the no65 Mercedes-AMG, over a second slower than the best time from FP1. However, in the FP2 standings the Austrian was 0.281s ahead of Eliseo Donno in the no51 AF Corse Ferrari and a further 0.248s ahead of the third fastest car, the no33 Kessel Racing Ferrari or David Cleto Fumanelli.

Qualifying for Round 4 of the 2025 Michelin Le Mans Cup at Spa-Francorchamps is due to begin at 11h25 on Saturday morning starting with the GT3 category.
