The top four places in the first practice session of the Portimão round of the 2021 Michelin Le Mans Cup were filled by Phoenix Racing and United Autosports, with the no60 Phoenix Racing Ligier of American Conor de Phillippi posting a 1m38.006 to claim the top spot.
The no23 United Autosports Ligier was second fastest with Wayne Boyd setting a 1m38.219, 0.213 seconds behind the leading car, 0.115s ahead of the no5 Phoenix Racing Ligier, with the no22 United Autosports Ligier in fourth with a 1m38.570.
Championship leaders Colin Noble and Tony Wells were 13th fastest in the no7 Nielsen Racing Ligier, with their nearest championship rivals, the no66 Rinaldi Racing Ligier of Nicolas Varrone and Alexander Mattschull, in 8th overall.
The no2 Pzoberer Zürichsee by TFT Porsche 911 of Nicolas Leutwiler and Julien Andlauer was the fastest of the three GT3 entries with Andlauer leading the way with a 1m42.195, 0.26s ahead of the no8 Iron Lynx Ferrari.
