Four-time Michelin Le Mans Cup LMP3 team champions DKR Engineering set the pace in the first 60-minute practice session at Spa-Francorchamps, with reigning ELMS LMP3 champion Laurents Hörr posting a time of 2m12.766 in the no3 Duqueine M30-D08 Nissan. The German driver was 0.242s ahead of the rest of the field, with the no57 Graff Racing Ligier second fastest.
The session was interrupted by two red flags, the first twenty minutes into the session when two cars, the no99 Bullitt Racing Aston Martin and the no43 Racing Spirit of Leman Ligier, collided. The drivers were OK, and the session was resumed with minimal delay.Another red flag was shown with 3 minutes left on the clock after gravel was brought onto the track, bringing the session to a slightly early conclusion.
The no88 GMB Motorsport Honda NSX of Jan Magnussen and Lars Pedersen was the quickest of the five GT3 cars taking part in the sixth race of the 2022 Michelin Le Mans Cup. It was GMB Motorsport 1-2-3, with Magnussen’s time of 2m18.708 1.5s ahead of the no55 Honda NSX of Kasper Jensen and 4.2s ahead of the no44 entry.
The second Free Practice session will take place this afternoon at 16h54 (CEST).
