The second 60-minute Free Practice session in Portimão saw the no50 23Events Racing Ligier Toyota take the top spot after Road To Le Mans winner Matteo Quintarelli lapped the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in 1m39.523, 0.121s ahead of the nearest rival but 0.082s slower than the fastest time set in FP1 by R-ace GP.
The second and third fastest cars in FP2 were LMP3 Pro/Am entries with the no44 Team Virage Ligier of Léo Sami Robinson setting a lap time of 1m39.644, 0.106s ahead of the no66 Rinaldi Racing Ligier of Griffin Peebles.
The no87 CLX Motorsport Liger was second fastest in LMP3 and fourth fastest overall with a 1m39.974, just ahead of the no85 R-ace GP Duqueine.
The championship leading no71 Rinaldi Racing Ligier was 6th fastest in LMP3 Pro/Am and 11th fastest overall, with the final challenger for the title, the no98 Motorsport98 Ligier finishing the session 3rd in class and 6th overall.
The top GT3 car in the session was the no95 Ebimotors Porsche 911 of Sabino Marco Pietro De Castro, the Italian posting a 1m43.811, just 0.046s ahead of the championship leading no51 AF Corse Ferrari of Eliseo Donno. The no83 Iron Dames Porsche was third quickest with Marta Garcia setting a lap of 1m44.186.
However, the best GT3 time in FP2 was 0.282s slower than David Fumanelli’s lap of 1m43.529 set in FP1 by the no33 Kessel Racing Ferrari.
Qualifying for Round 6 of the 2025 Michelin Le Mans Cup will start at 11h50 tomorrow morning.
