After setting the fastest time in Free Practice 1, the no85 R-ace GP Duqueine-Nissan finished the final practice session of the Mugello weekend at the top of timing screen once again.
In a rain hit session, the times were inevitably a lot slower than on the dry track this morning and the session was interrupted by three Full Course Yellow periods as cars slid off the track in the tricky conditions.
Hadrien David in the no85 Duqueine set a 2m04.345, over 20 seconds slower than his best time of 1m43.111 in FP1.As in the earlier session it was the no66 Rinaldi Racing Ligier of Wyatt Brichacek that finished second, the American finishing with a 2m05.403, 1.058s behind David.
The no34 Inter Europol Competition Ligier of Rik Koen was third fastest, with the two Team Virage cars in 4thand 5th, the no44 Ligier finishing 0.05s ahead of the sister no59 Ligier JS P320.
After finishing at the top of the GT3 standings in FP1, Italian team AF Corse was fastest in FP2, but this time it was the no88 Ferrari of Riccardo Agostini that quickest, the Italian setting a 2m09.454 in the wet conditions. This was after the car had missed most of FP1 after an accident and there were further problems when the driver’s door fell off during the Bronze Test due to damaged hinges from the earlier FP1 accident.
The no88 Ferrari was 0.045s ahead of the second fastest GT3 car, the no42 Steller Motorsport Audi with Sennan Fielding posting a 2m09.499 lap time.
