The first 60-minute Free Practice session at Monza saw Road to Le Mans winners Edouard Cauhaupe and Nicolas Maulini set the pace in the no37 Cool Racing Ligier, with Cauhaupe setting the best time of 1m44.007.
The top 3 cars were split by just 0.082s, with the no27 MV2S Racing Ligier of Fabien Lavergne and Christophe Cresp second fastest, with Lavergne setting a 1m44.069 lap, just 0.020s ahead of the no69 Cool Racing Ligier of Matt Bell and Maurice Smith.
The no23 United Autosports Ligier was fourth fastest, 0.618s adrift of the no37 Ligier.
In the GT3 category it was the no67 Kessel Racing Ferrari of Turkey’s Murat Cuhadaroglu and Italian David Fumanelli out in front with a 1m48.104, nearly half a second ahead their teammates, David Perel and Michael Broniszewski in the no74 Kessel Racing Ferrari.
The no8 Iron Lynx Ferrari of championship leader Rino Mastronardi and Giacomo Piccini were third fastest with a session best lap of 1m48.701, with the no2 Pzoberer Zürichsee by TFT Porsche fourth quickest with a 1m48.823.
The second 60-minute Free Practice session will take place this afternoon at 17h00.
