The second 20-minute qualifying session for Saturday’s RTLM race was cut short by three minutes when the no1 DKR Engineering Duqueine went off into the gravel at the exit of Porsche Curves.
When the red flag was shown the no21 Muehlner Motorsport Duqueine-Nissan of Moritz Kranz was at the head of the field with a 3m47.389 lap, 2.432 seconds ahead of the no3 DKR Engineering Duqueine of Jean Glorieux.Glorieux had set his best time on Lap 2 but had to pit after receiving a Black and Orange warning flag on lap 3 and was just rejoining when the red flag was shown.
The no37 Cool Racing Ligier of Antoine Doquin was third fastest, just ahead of Thorsten Krantz in the no11 WTM Powered by Phoenix Duqueine.
The no8 Iron Lynx Ferrari will start Saturday’s race at the head of the GT3 field after Rory Penttinen posted a 3m57.721 lap, 0.192s ahead of the no95 Oman Racing Aston Martin Vantage of former RTLM race winner Ahmad Al Harthy.
Nicolas Leutwiler took third spot in the no2 Porsche with a 3m58.566 lap, well ahead of the fourth placed no72 Team WRT Audi of Jean-Denis Deletraz.
The second Road to Le Mans race is due to start at 12h15 (CEST) on Saturday 21 August, less than four hours before the start of the 89th24 Hours of Le Mans.
