After the qualifying session for the second Road To Le Mans race had to be abandoned following two red flags, the grid has been set by the Stewards using the times set in Free Practice 2 with the no85 R-ace GP Duqueine and the no88 AF Corse Ferrari starting at the head of the LMP3 and GT3 grids.
In the qualifying session the red flag was shown before any fast laps had been set when the no71 Rinaldi Racing Ligier of Stefan Aust and the no 12 Kessel Racing Ferrari of Frederic Jousset went off track in separate incidents.
The cars were cleared as quickly as possible by the marshals and then the session went back to green. However, on the outlap the no76 Team Virage Ligier of Jacek Zielonka slid off the track into the gravel at Indianapolis, bringing out another red flag before the session could really get going.
With not enough time left on the clock, the decision was taken not to resume the session and the cars returned to the Michelin Le Mans Cup paddock.
Several penalties were imposed by the stewards after the qualifying session and the first race, with the cars involved being put to the back of the grid.
