R-Ace GP Set the Pace in FP1 at Le Castellet

All French team R-Ace GP set the fastest time in Free Practice 1 for their home race at Le Castellet. Hadrien David was the only driver to post a sub 1 minute 50 second lap with a 1m49.709 in the no85 Duqueine-Nissan, 0.746s ahead of his nearest rival, Daniel Keilwitz in the no66 Rinaldi Racing Ligier.

The 60-minute session was held under blue skies and on a dry track, which was in stark contrast to the wet and cold conditions the competitors faced in yesterday’s test sessions.

COOL Racing finished FP1 in third place, with David Droux posting a 1m50.849 lap in the no97 Ligier, 0.394s behind Daniel Keilwitz and 0.079s ahead of Wayne Boyd in the no7 Nielsen Racing Ligier.

The no12 Kessel Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 was the quickest of the ten GT3 competitors, with David Cleto Fumanelli setting a 1m54.743 in the dry conditions, 0.326s ahead of the no 88 AF Corse Ferrari of Riccardo Agostini.

The no73 Proton Huber Competition Porsche was third fastest in the hands of Manuel Lauck, the German lapping in 1m55.396, just 0.002s ahead of the no74 Kessel Racing Ferrari of Fran Rueda Mateos.

The second Free Practice session will take place this afternoon at 18h00 CEST.
