A WORD FROM THE RACE DIRECTOR

Once again Portuguese Race Director Eduardo Freitas will be in charge and controlling the proceedings from Race Control. We asked him his thoughts on the final race of the season on his home track.

“Algarve is in my country and everyone is welcome in Portugal. We’re very proud to welcome everyone in Portimão. There is still a lot to be decided in the championship and this is a tricky track. It’s a track where the drivers will need to memorise the reference points quite well, as they are not very easy.

“The track is undulating and is known as the roller coaster of motor sport. The track has been totally resurfaced, so the bumps seen in previous years have disappeared and the weather looks like it will be with us for the weekend. Which should mean we have a great finale in Portimão and a great end to the 2020 ELMS and Michelin Le Mans Cup seasons after all the hiccups we have had to live with this year.”
