The first practice session of the Spa-Francorchamps round saw the no7 Nielsen Racing Ligier post the fastest time, with Josh Skelton posting a 2m13.480 in the last five minutes of the 60-minute session.
The practice session was interrupted by a red flag after the no9 Racing Spirit of Leman Ligier went off track and had to be recovered.
Skelton’s best lap was 0.464s faster than the second placed car which was the no97 COOL Racing Ligier after David Droux posted a 2m13.944, 0.081s ahead of the no28 MV2S Racing Ligier and 0.222s ahead of the fourth fastest car, the no23 United Autosports Ligier.
The fastest GT3 entry was the no10 Racing Spirt of Leman Aston Martin Vantage of championship leader Valentin Hasse Clot, the French driver setting a best lap of 2m18.486, 0.125s ahead of the no63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini of Vincent Abril.
The no18 Team Parker Racing Porsche was third fastest with a 2m18.927, 0.4 seconds ahead of the fourth fastest entry, the no83 AF Corse Ferrari 296.
Free Practice 2 will be held later this afternoon, with the 60-minute session beginning at 16h55.
