The second and final 60-minute Free Practice session of the Road To Le Mans was topped by the no58 Team Virage Ligier with Manuel Espirito Santo posting a 3m50.077 lap and the GT3 class was headed by the no57 Winward Racing Mercedes AMG GT3, with Russel Ward posting the session best time for the category of 3m58.909.
The session was interrupted several times by Slow Zones at various points of the circuit and eventually the practice session was red flagged when a car went off into the gravel. With just 9 minutes left the session did not resume.
The no97 COOL Racing Ligier of David Droux was second fastest when the session was stopped, with the Swiss driver finishing 0.489s behind the leading car and 0.239s ahead of Colin Noble in the no77 Team Thor Ligier, with the Scot claiming the best time of the day of 3m49.296 in the earlier session.
The no63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini was second fastest in GT3, with Vincent Abril setting a 4m02.515 lap, 3.6 seconds behind the leading Mercedes. Abril was 1.276s ahead of the third fastest GT3 entry, the no31 Team WRT BMW M4 of Timothy Whale.
The first of the two 20-minute qualifying sessions will take place tomorrow afternoon at 12h55, with qualifying for race 2 at 13h30.
