Team Virage Still Fastest at Le Castellet in FP2

For the second time today the no12 Team Virage Ligier was the fastest car on the Michelin Le Mans grid ahead of qualifying for tomorrow’s Le Castellet 120, Round 3 of the 2020 season.

Julien Falchero topped the time sheets at the end of the 60-minute session with an almost identical time to the one he set in FP1.  The French driver set a 1m49.694 lap and he was still six tenths ahead of the no24 United Autosports Ligier of Andy Meyrick, with the no7 Nielsen Racing Duqueine third after Colin Noble set a 1m50.375, just 0.007s behind Meyrick’s Ligier.

The no8 Iron Lynx Ferrari was the fastest of the six GT3 cars, with Nicklas Nielsen, who is standing in for the absent Giacomo Piccini, setting the best GT3 lap of the day, a 1m54.751, half a second ahead of Matt Griffin in the no77 Iron Lynx Ferrari.  The no50 Kessel Racing F488 GT3 of Oliver Hancock was third fastest just 0.027s behind Griffin at the end of the session.

Qualifying for the Le Castellet 120 will take place tomorrow morning at 09h30 starting with GT3 followed by a further 15-minute session for LMP3.
