Michelin have been the title sponsor and sole tyre supplier of the series since the first season in 2016 and has supported the growth of the Le Mans Cup into the vital first step on the endurance racing career ladder.

The extension of three more seasons will help fuel that growth even further with young drivers choosing the Michelin Le Mans Cup to launch their careers in endurance, while offering bronze level drivers the opportunity of extended track time on some of Europe’s most iconic racetracks, including the full 13.6km La Sarthe circuit at Le Mans.

In the meantime, Michelin will also continue to be the official tyre manufacturer for the LMP3 class in European Le Mans Series.

Frédéric Lequien, CEO Le Mans Endurance Management: “We are really happy to continue our partnership with the firm from Clermont-Ferrand for a further three years for the Michelin Le Mans Cup. This series is a crucial step on the Endurance ladder and having a major player like Michelin alongside us is a real asset. This partnership will allow us to keep moving forward together at this promising time for Endurance.”

Matthieu Bonardel Michelin Motorsport Director:“Michelin attaches great importance to Endurance racing, for which the Le Mans Cup championship is the ideal entry platform. Endurance racing, where high performance is required over the entire race distance, is perfectly in line with our Group's "All Sustainable" vision. The Michelin Le Mans Cup complements and strengthens the sport, so we are delighted to support the drivers and teams until at least 2024.”

The 2022 Michelin Le Mans Cup will feature six rounds beginning in Le Castellet in April. There are visits to Imola (ITA), Hungaroring (HUN), Spa-Francorchamps (BEL), Portimão (PRT) as well as two 55-minute races at Le Mans in June.
