The fastest cars on day one of the Le Castellet weekend were the no4 Nielsen Racing Duqueine-Nissan and the no63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan.
Matt Bell posted the only sub 1 minute 50 second lap of the day, the British driver’s morning session time of 1m49.793 not bettered by anyone for the rest of the day. Vincent Abril also set the best GT3 time in the morning session, with a 1m55.728 lap in the Lamborghini.
The LMP3 times in the morning session saw the no77 Team Thor Ligier of Colin Noble go second quickest with a 1m50.135, 0.189s ahead of the no23 United Autosports Ligier of Wayne Boyd and a further 0.053s ahead of the no7 Nielsen Racing Ligier of Josh Skelton. The top 5 LMP3 cars in the morning session were quicker than the afternoons best time.
Second fastest in the GT3 class was the no10 Racing Spirit of Leman Aston Martin of Vincent Hasse Clot, 0.132s behind Abril and 0.22s ahead of the championship leaders in the no86 HCR With Caffeine Six Porsche and a further 0.195s ahead of the 4th placed no55 GMB Motorsport Honda NSX. These four cars were faster than the best time in the afternoon session.
It was a United Autosports 1-2 in the afternoon session with the no22 Ligier of Scott Andrews heading the timing screens with a 1m50.448, 0.047s ahead of his teammate Wayne Boyd in the no23 Ligier. Colin Noble was third fastest in the no77 Team Thor Ligier with a 1m50.535, just 0.087s behind the lead car. COOL Racing were 4thand 5thfastest with the no97 Ligier of David Droux ahead of the no87 car.
The GT3 class was headed by the no10 Racing Spirit of Leman Aston Martin, with Valentin Hasse Clot posting a 1m56.061 lap, 0.162s ahead of the no51 AF Corse Ferrari 296 of Kei Cozzolino with the no63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini third fastest with a 1m56.514 and the no86 HCR With Caffeine Six Porsche in fourth, 0.202s further back.
The MLMC competitors will be back on track on Friday morning at 10h30 for Free Practice 1.
