Championship leader Hadrien David took his second pole position in a row to start this afternoon’s fifth round of the 2025 Michelin Le Mans Cup at the front of the 42-car field.
The French driver lapped the Silverstone circuit in 1m53.023 in the no85 R-ace GP Duqueine D09-Toyota early in the session, a time that wasn’t bettered in the 15-minute session. The main challenge came from the no50 23Events Racing Ligier of Matteo Quintarelli, the Italian closing the gap on almost every lap, but finishing the session in second place, just 0.086s behind David at the chequered flag .
The no87 CLX Motorsport Ligier of Pierre-Alexandre Provost will start on row 2 with the no92 Forestier Racing by VPS of Charles Roussanne alongside.
The second Forestier Racing by VPS Ligier heads row 3 after Romain Favre posted a 1m53.839 lap, 0.816s behind the lead car and 0.180s ahead of Theo Micouris in the no16 Team Virage Ligier.
The no49 High Class Racing Ligier will start from pole after Thomas Kiefer lapped the Silverstone circuit in 1m55.228s, 0.290s ahead of Terrence Woodward in the no28 23Events Racing.
The 15-minute LMP3 Pro/Am session was red flagged three minutes early when the no77 Reiter Engineering Ligier of Horst Felbermayr came to a halt on the start finish straight with smoke coming from the rear. With fluids on the track the session was halted early.
Row 2 will see the n62 Bretton Racing Ligier of Ben Stone and the no44 Team Virage of Jacek Zielonka.Championship leader Stefan Aust will start the race on row 3 in the no71 Rinaldi Racing Ligier.
Vanina Ickx gave the Iron Dames team their first MLMC pole position of the season, the Belgian driver taking the chequered flag in 2m02.680, 0.161s ahead of the no11 Code Racing Development Aston Martin Vantage of Philipp Sager, the Austrian holding the top spot for most of the 15-minute session.
Championship leader Alessandro Cozzi put the no51 AF Corse Ferrari at the head of row 2 with a 2m03.130, with the no95 Ebimotors Porsche in 4th.
The 110-minute race, which is Round 5 of the 2025 Michelin Le Mans Cup, is due to begin at 16h45 this afternoon.
