The R-ace GP Duqueine set the fastest lap in the opening Road To Le Mans practice session, with Hadrien David posting a 3m47.947 lap of the 13.6km circuit at Le Mans.
David’s time was 1 second ahead of the no7 Nielsen Racing Ligier after Wayne Boyd improved his best time at the chequered flag, recording a 3m49.009 to move ahead of the no34 Inter Europol Competition Ligier, which had set a best lap of 3m49.137 with Rik Koen at the wheel.
The no22 WTM by Rinaldi Racing was fourth fastest after Leo Weiss set the best time for the first half of the session. The no22 Duqueine finished 0.007 ahead of the Round 1 winning car, the no20 High Class Racing Ligier.
The no51 AF Corse Ferrari set the fastest lap in the GT3 category after Alessandro Balzan posted a 3m57.273 in the first half of the 60-minute session, a time that wasn’t bettered by the time the chequered flag was shown. Ferrari filled four of the top five places at the end of the session.
Michele Rugolo made it an AF Corse 1-2 after the Italian recorded a 3m57.849 to move ahead of the no95 Racing Spirit of Leman Aston Martin by 0.092s with reigning champion Valentin Hasse Clot posting a 1m57.941.
The no74 Kessel Racing Ferrari was fourth fastest with a 3m58.148, 0.349s ahead of the no88 AF Corse 296 GT3.
The second Free Practice session will take place at 20h30 this evening.
