The second round of the Michelin Le Mans Cup, was held last weekend in Le Mans. 49 cars took part to the two races of the event with the second one held before the start of the 24 Hours of le Mans.
The 49 cars, during the 2 races covered 1093 laps which is equal to 14896 km. In order to change the tyres, the drivers and do some repairs to the cars the teams did 104 pitstops during the two races. According to the regulation, every team had a mandatory pitstop between the 22e and 32 minutes of the race in order to change the driver.
Yann Ehrlacher was the quickest in the speed trap with a top speed of 298km/h at the wheel of the Norma M30 Nissan n°19 of M.Racing-YMR.
The third round of the season will be the 22nd of July in the Red Bull Ring, Austria. All the Michelin Le Mans Cup competitors will fight again to try to win an invitation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the end of the season for the GT3 or to win a place in the European Le Mans Series championship for the LMP3 winners.
