Season Review with Colin Noble (n°79 Nielsen Racing Ligier JS P3)

The young Scottish driver Colin Noble did his Michelin Le Mans Cup debut this season with Nielsen Racing at the wheel of the n°79 Ligier JS P3 and started really well with a win at Monza, the first round of the 2017 calendar. After a regular season Colin and the team ended second of the teams and driver’s classification.

Season Review with Colin Noble (n°79 Nielsen Racing Ligier JS P3)

Can you tell us about your 2017 season?

It’s been a really good year, it started very well at Monza with a win and then we moved on and stayed consistent. We could have been second at Le Mans, we were really quick but we went off in the last lap and lost the podium. And then from there we did our job, stayed in the front row and in the top 6, we tried to close the gap with the Norma and generally got the fastest lap but that gap was just too big.

Best moments of the 2017 season:

  • Monza was really good, first time the team and myself raced in the Le Mans Cup and we won so it’s probably the highlight of the season.
  • The compete in Le Mans is the second highlight although we did not get the result we wanted the pace was there we were the fastest Ligier with the fastest lap

Really Good Fun!

Do you have any plans for 2018?

I hope to compete again in Michelin Le Mans Cup again, I don’t know the line up yet but hopefully we will get back to fight for the championship next year.  I won the title in Britain so hope to go back there as well

Best performance of the season for Colin Noble

The best performance of Colin Noble was in the Red Bull Ring where he did the fastest lap during the race setting a time of 1:26.750. All year long he was on the top 6 of the fastest LMP3 drivers.
