The second 60-minute Free Practice session saw the times in both classes improve with the no33 Team Virage Ligier of Ian Rodriguez take the top spot from the no69 Cool Racing Ligier of Malthe Jakobsen by just 0.079s.  Both cars went below 1m50s, with the no33 Ligier setting a 1m49.854 and the no69 Ligier a 1m49.933 around the 5.7km Circuit Paul Ricard.

Jakobsen was just 0.091s ahead of no6 ANS Motorsport Ligier of Nicolas Schatz, with the French driver posting a 1m50.024, just 0.069s ahead of the no3 DKR Engineering Duqueine of Laurents Hörr and a further 0.049s ahead of the no53 RLR MSport Ligier, meaning the top 5 cars were split by just 0.288 seconds.

GMB Motorsport once again led the way in the GT3 category, but this time it was the no44 Honda NSX of Gustav Birch which set the fastest time of the day.The Dane’s lap of 1m55.925 was nearly half a second ahead of the no61 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 of Andrea Montermini, with the Italian’s time just 0.2s ahead of the no55 GMB Motorsport Honda of Kasper Jensen.

After sustaining damage from a collision in testing, which meant the chassis of the car had to be replaced, the no99 Bullitt Racing Aston Martin took to track for the first time today, with the team getting some much-needed track time.

Qualifying for the first race of the 2022 season at Le Castellet will take place on Saturday 16 April and will start with the GT3 class at 12h10, followed by LMP3 at 12h35.
