The no25 Lanan Racing Norma-Nissan of Michael Benham and Duncan Tappy was the quickest of the 27 LMP3 competitors in the first free practice session ahead of tomorrow’s race at Monza. There was one red flag during the 50 minute session to recover the no96 TKS Ginetta of Teruaki Kato, which had gone off into the barriers at turn 8.
Duncan Tappy set a 1m46.187 lap, 0.458s ahead of the no30 CD Sport Norma driven by Anthony Pons and Laurents Horr. Round 1 winners, Leonard Hoogenboom and Jens Petersen were third fastest in the no3 DKR Engineering Norma with a 1m46.777, just over half a second behind the lead car.
The round 1 winning car, the no8 Kessel Racing Ferrari F488, set the pace at Monza with Giacomo Piccini setting a 1m49.850, 0.8 seconds ahead of the no51 Spirit of Race F488 of Christoph Ulrich and Maurizio Mediani.
