GT3: Three from Three for Mastonardi

Rino Mastronardi scored his third pole of the 2020 season in the 15-minute qualifying session for this afternoon’s Le Castellet 120. The Italian posted a 1m55.476 lap at the chequered flag in the no8 Iron Lynx Ferrari, four tenths ahead of Michael Broniszewski in the no74 Kessel Racing 488 GT3.

Following the post-qualifying srcutineering, the n°8 Iron Lynx Ferrari 488 GTE saw all its laps cancelled due to a technical infrigement. (Stewards decision n°1). The car will then start from the back of the grid. The n°74 Kessel Racing will then start from pole position.

The session started with a warning of oil at the exit of Signes corner which had been treated by the marshals.Broniszewski set the early pace along with Nicolas Leutwiler in the no2 Pzoberer Zürichsee by TFT Porsche 911.

Broniszewski set his best lap with four minutes left on the clock, a 1m55.843 but was pushed down to second place by the no8 Ferrari.As they began their last laps both drivers were ahead of the pole position pace, with Mastronardi slightly ahead.However, Broniszewski ran wide at T7 and his lap was deleted, while Mastronardi improved his time by two tenths as he took the chequered flag.

The Le Castellet 120, round 3 of the Michelin Le Mans Cup, will start this afternoon at 14h00 CET. You will be able to follow the race live in our social media and on the official website.
